Dr. Ilya Mukovozov

Dermatologist

Dr. Ilya Mukovozov is a Canadian board-certified dermatologist who is dedicated to outstanding patient care, research excellence, and teaching. He completed his Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at McMaster University, before embarking on his research and medical career at the University of Toronto (UofT). His research in the Cell Biology Department at SickKids Hospital focused on the characterization of inflammatory signaling pathways in immune cells. He obtained his Master of Science degree followed by a combined MD/PhD degree at UofT. He completed his Dermatology Residency at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Mukovozov is actively involved in dermatology research with colleagues across Canada. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications in dermatology journals, including the Australasian Journal of Dermatology, Clinics in Dermatology, Dermatology, Dermatitis, Dermatologic Surgery, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, and the European Journal of Dermatology and Venereology. During his training at UofT, he served as editor-in-chief for the University of Toronto Medical Journal, and for Toronto Notes, a comprehensive study guide for medical licensing exams. He has received numerous awards and funding including support from the Canadian Institute of Health Research and the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation. His scientific work has been presented at national and international conferences.

Dr. Mukovozov works with leading experts in skin cancer surveillance and surgery, psoriasis, eczema, soft tissue augmentation, and neuromodulators. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He regularly attends international meetings with renowned experts to stay up to date on the latest advancements in soft tissue augmentation, chemical peels, lasers, and neuromodulators.

Dr. Mukovozov’s clinical areas of interest include acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, scars, hidradenitis suppurativa, melasma, and dyspigmentation. He is passionate about cosmetic dermatology, specializing in injectables and chemical peels. His training and research experience enables him to work alongside his patients to help them achieve their medical and cosmetic goals.
