Dr. Akerke Baibergenova
Dr. Akerke Baibergenova completed her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto and received her Royal College Board Certificate in June 2012. Prior to that, she completed her master’s degree in Public Health (Albany University’s School of Public Health, NY). She subsequently received her PhD degree in Clinical Epidemiology (McMaster University).
In addition to her Canadian residency training and workload, Dr. Baibergenova led and was involved in several research projects, including international projects in dermatoepidemiology. Her research work has been published in high-impact, peer-reviewed dermatology journals and presented at multiple national and international conferences. Her research interests include medical dermatology, the link between skin disease and internal comorbidities, and innovative strategies in treating skin conditions.
Dr. Baibergenova was born and raised in Kazakhstan. She obtained her medical degree (with honors) from Almaty State Medical University and subsequently completed residency training in dermatology, and a fellowship in allergy and immunology. She practiced dermatology in Kazakhstan for four years prior to moving to North America.
